Our Story

 Northside Missionary Baptist Church (NMBC) started its humble beginnings in September of 1962. Originating, with four Christian men meeting to study God's Word in a home. Later,  Reverend Cleothus Montgomery was called to be the pastor. Reverend Montgomery became the official founding Pastor of NMBC in October of 1962. Under his 54 years of leadership the church was an active force in the community spiritually, politically, and academically. Due to the continuous growth in membership, NMBC has labored in four building.  After tremendous growth in membership as well as leadership, NMBC was able to purchase its fourth and current house of worship in February of 2000 and later adding their, the ‘Cleothus Montgomery Family Life Center’.

As we move forward, we will expand our impact in the our church and community for the advancement of  Kingdom. Northside is the church “where everybody is somebody and Jesus Christ is Lord”
